Dear ladies and gentlemen, have you ever been to a ball? Do you know the etiquette about balls? Review with us!
Flawless dress code
The first and the most important thing for attending a ball is to pick the right dress/suits.
First, you have to know the type of venue you are attending, it is given on the invitation. In some rare cases, you can be asked to wear a white tie attire but is more specific to royal ceremonies or formal evening weddings. Prefer then the black-tie attire, mostly used for balls and formal dinners.
Ladies
You can take that occasion to wear a beautiful traditional long-length gown for the night, choose a light or pastel colour for this type of dress, it will give you a very elegant silhouette.
It is also acceptable to wear a cocktail dress if you don’t want to buy a gown for this one-time event, you can then go for colours like black, jewel tones or metallic colours. The dress has to be at least below the knees, not too tight or too revealing.
Cover yourself with a nice coat during winter, for chilly night take a shawl or a cashmere wrap.
Wear high heels with small and sophisticated jewelleries.
Men
Wear a tuxedo with a white shirt and a bowtie. The jacket and the pants should be the same colour either in black or midnight blue or opt for a velvet jacket which is on trend nowadays.
Accessorise your outfit with a watch and some cufflinks but remember to pair them.
Keep up your style: Make sure that you are presentable at any time, the jacket always on the shoulders, bowtie well tightened, maintain good discussions… you have to be impeccable.
